Chocolate Mousse

Ingredients:

  • 100g of dark chocolate (70% cacao or higher)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 25g of granulated sugar
  • 150ml of heavy cream
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt

Kitchen Tools Needed:

  • Mixing bowls
  • Electric mixer
  • Spatula
  • Ramekin or serving dish
  • Double boiler or heatproof bowl

Instructions:

  • Melt the dark chocolate in a double boiler or heatproof bowl over simmering water until smooth. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk the eggs and sugar together until they become pale and fluffy.
  • In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form, then gently fold in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually combine the melted chocolate with the egg mixture, stirring until well incorporated.
  • Carefully fold the whipped cream into the chocolate-egg mixture in batches, ensuring not to deflate the mixture.
  • Season with a pinch of salt, then spoon the mousse into a ramekin or serving dish.
  • Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow it to set.
