Ingredients:
- 200g of all-purpose flour
- 200g of granulated sugar
- 75g of unsweetened cocoa powder
- 105g of unsalted butter, softened
- 150ml of whole milk
- 3 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons of baking powder
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 200g of dark chocolate, melted
- 300g of heavy cream
- 50g of powdered sugar
Kitchen Tools Needed:
- Mixing bowls
- Electric mixer
- Spatula
- Baking pans
- Cooling rack
- Piping bag
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour three 8-inch round baking pans.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk until well combined.
- Divide the batter evenly among the prepared pans and smooth the tops with a spatula.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
- While the cakes are cooling, whip the heavy cream with the powdered sugar until soft peaks form in a mixing bowl.
- Once the cakes are completely cool, place one layer on a serving plate. Spread a generous amount of whipped cream on top and drizzle with melted dark chocolate.
- Repeat the process with the second layer, then place the final layer on top. Cover the entire cake with the remaining whipped cream and decorate as desired with chocolate shavings or fresh fruits.
