Ingredients:

  • 300g of ripe mango flesh
  • 100g of granulated sugar
  • 150ml of freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 15g of fresh basil leaves
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 150ml of water

Kitchen Tools Needed:

  • Ice cream maker
  • Blender
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spatula

Instructions:

  • In a blender, combine the ripe mango flesh, granulated sugar, and a pinch of salt. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  • In a saucepan, heat the water over medium heat. Once it's warm, add the basil leaves and steep for about 10 minutes to infuse the flavor.
  • Strain the basil-infused water into the mango mixture, and add the freshly squeezed lime juice. Blend again until well combined.
  • Pour the mixture into a mixing bowl and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  • Once chilled, pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
  • Transfer the sorbet to a container and freeze for at least 1 hour before serving to firm up the texture.
