Preparation Time:

120 min

Difficulty:

Expert

Ingredients:

  • 200g of high-quality dark chocolate (70% cocoa or more)
  • 500ml of whole milk
  • 150g of granulated sugar
  • 40g of cornstarch
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • a pinch of salt
  • 30g of unsalted butter

Kitchen Tools Needed:

  • Double boiler
  • Whisk
  • Rubber spatula
  • Serving bowl

Instructions:

  • Begin by breaking the dark chocolate into small pieces and placing them in a double boiler. Allow it to melt gently over low heat, stirring occasionally until smooth.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
  • In another saucepan, heat the whole milk over medium heat until warm but not boiling. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the milk, whisking continuously to avoid lumps.
  • Continue to cook the mixture over medium heat, whisking constantly until it thickens and starts to bubble gently. This should take about 5-7 minutes.
  • Once thickened, remove from heat and add the melted chocolate, vanilla extract, and unsalted butter. Whisk until everything is fully incorporated and smooth.
  • Pour the pudding into a serving bowl and cover with plastic wrap, pressing it directly onto the surface to prevent a skin from forming.
  • Refrigerate the pudding for at least 1 hour to allow it to set properly.
  • Once set, serve chilled and enjoy your decadent chocolate pudding.
