Ingredients:
- 500g of whole wheat flour
- 350ml of warm water
- 2 teaspoons of active dry yeast
- 1 tablespoon of honey
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
Kitchen Tools Needed:
- Mixing Bowl
- Loaf Pan
- Oven
- Measuring Cups
- Kitchen Scale
- Dough Scraper
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the warm water, honey, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- Add the whole wheat flour, salt, and olive oil into the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
- Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes, or until it doubles in size.
- Preheat the oven to 220°C (430°F).
- After the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air, and shape it into a loaf. Place it into a greased loaf pan.
- Cover the loaf with a cloth and let it rise for another 15 minutes.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes until the top is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
- Remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
