Ingredients:

  • 500g of whole wheat flour
  • 350ml of warm water
  • 2 teaspoons of active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil

Kitchen Tools Needed:

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Loaf Pan
  • Oven
  • Measuring Cups
  • Kitchen Scale
  • Dough Scraper

Instructions:

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the warm water, honey, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  • Add the whole wheat flour, salt, and olive oil into the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  • Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes, or until it doubles in size.
  • Preheat the oven to 220°C (430°F).
  • After the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air, and shape it into a loaf. Place it into a greased loaf pan.
  • Cover the loaf with a cloth and let it rise for another 15 minutes.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes until the top is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  • Remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
