Ingredients:

  • 200g of all-purpose flour
  • 150g of granulated sugar
  • 5 large eggs
  • 100g of unsalted butter
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • a pinch of salt
  • powdered sugar for dusting

Kitchen Tools Needed:

  • mixing bowl
  • whisk
  • baking pan
  • oven
  • sieve

Instructions:

  • Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F).
  • Grease and flour a baking pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs and granulated sugar together until pale and fluffy.
  • Melt the unsalted butter and let it cool slightly, then add it to the egg mixture along with vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, sift the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt together.
  • Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined, being careful not to deflate the batter.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Once baked, let the cake cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Dust the cooled cake with powdered sugar before serving.
